New Nokia Windows smartphones uncovered

Nokia have uncovered their latest new smartphones at the Nokia World event held in London today. Both the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 will use Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7.5 operating system. The new manager of Nokia, Stephen Elop, said the launch marked the 'rebirth' of the company. Shipping of the Lumia 800 is to start almost at once and is due to hit the shops in November.

Porsche designed Blackberry out soon ON October 27th

RIM have sent out VIP provokes to a new Porsche designed Blackberry presentation, due to be held on the 27th October in Dubai. No further details have been released as yet only that those attending the event are asked to 'be part of something truly exclusive'.

First Google store opens in London

Google has opened it's first ever Chrome Zone, a store within a branch of Curries and PC World on Tottenham Court Road  in London . The store is a test by Google to sell   its own range of Chrome book laptops. These use Google's operating system which rely heavily on internet access and were previously only available online. "We’ve put a great deal of thought into the design of this Chrome Zone," said Arvind Desikan, head of consumer marketing for Google in the UK and Ireland . Mark Slater, category director at Dixons Retail, said: "Initial customer response to the launch of Samsung’s Chromebook has been excellent and we are expecting a lot of customer interest now it is in-store."

Amazon has commenced it's first multimedia tablet

Amazon has commenced it's first multimedia tablet, which it expects will rival Apple's iPad. Amazon's creator Jeff Bezos broadcast the Kindle Fire's arrival in New York the recent past. The tablet will run a modified version of Google's machine operating system and will be capable of multitasking, allowing the user to read and listen to music at the same time for example. The Fire features a 7 inch IPS, (in-plane switching) screen, a dual core processor, 1024 x 600 resolution and 8GB internal storage. The biggest selling point of the Fire, which weighs 413 grammas, must be the price, $199, (£130 app), although UK pricing is yet to be long-established. Shipping will begin on November 15th in the US .
